This place is a joke. Avoid at all cost!! Mini golf course (or more fittingly called concrete with round holes) has exposed wires in the outlets that are on the ground where a small child might put their fingers. Brought to staff's attention months ago and nothing gets done. We've been a seasonal here for several years and a new manager comes in, doesn't even bother to read the existing contract and decides she is going to raise rates and take away elements of the existing contract. It is clear this place is being run as a corporation and not a family friendly campground as the signs of corporate greed are everywhere.

I went with my children 07/21/15 for 3 days. It was ok it was christmas in July. They had a few activities to do the pool was fun staff was nice. Its outdated the cabin we had wasnt that clean at least we had a/c the bathrooms were ok. The store was ok not well equipted. I dont want to sound racist but Im Mexican and literally no one at the campsite talked to us just staff. It felt uncomfortable being there they just looked at us like they never seen brown skin before. Overall I wont be going back.

This weekend at jellystone in Fremont Wi was Christmas in July. People come in and decorate their sites and expect to be judged but not this year because there was no manager to be found. The campgrounds was full, don't you think for safety reasons there should be someone in charge? They have very small and young kids doing security. Weekends should have a manager to be able to get a hold of but not this weekend. I think being a summer job they should be working more then 40 hours a week. They don't do much threw the winter so work when it is busy.

Won't ever go back. Everything is outdated. Place will be closed within 10 years. The staff was terrible in the office. No one knew what they were doing. Store was very slow, but the people were nice. The maintenance around the park is terrible, and the bathrooms and shower rooms were disgusting. I don't even think they have housekeeping, and if they do, they are useless. The pool was really nice and the kids enjoyed the slide. Lifeguards were nice and very helpful. Only recommend the campground for the pool.

Alot to be desired in Maint. areas, young maint. staff give rides to a drunk women on a tractor full of wood, how safe is this?!! Unfriendly Maint. kids. whole Maint. staff including head person unfriendly with all other staff seems he can just do what ever he wants and gets away with it. Some staff wears staff shirts and some don't..guess which don't? Maint. kids are always in garage or doing things that do not pertain to the grounds or park pretty much. Listen to all the gossip all you want but if you knew the people in the office and other staff you could clearly see what is going on, the coorperate
is just as bad if not worse, they just cover there own _____. and do not have a clue as to whats going on. Maybe its time the seasonals get together and have someone get their stuff together because cooperate sure don't have a clue. Bill is the best manager this park has had, to bad some staff feel they own the park and have to make it miserable for everyone to benefit themselves. Some should just grow up or move on.

This is one of the seasons of yogi bear first of all let's start with the office. Rose the assistant manager is absolutely horrible she is mean and I called to see how long this campground has been around she said this "What is with all the questions who is this!?!" she said I was a waste of her time. I hope she gets fired. the store is perfect no flaws all the workers are nice and have a huge heart! Rec is nice also. The park is nice but rose ruins it all!

I have been staying at Jellystone Fremont for at least 30 years. Fifteen years were tenting and about 15 years seasonal. We have had good managers and bad. Since the campgrounds have been bought out by a group it hasn't been the same. Prices keep going up and now we are not allowed to build anything such as decks or sheds. The staff at jellystone are great and if it wasn't for the head of the grounds (Mr. Dick) the campgrounds would be in trouble. He came in with tracktors, a backhole and much more. The campgrounds didn't have much It is hard to keep thing looking good and in good shape if they don't get money to do this, such as updating the kiddy pool. Yes I agree the night staff are very young, should be older. I don't like the 3 different seasonel prices, we should all be the same. We all use the pool and all the rest of the ammenities and we should all pay the same. In all its a great place to go to, the only thing is prices are high.

We absolutly love camping at Fremont Jellystone and compared to some of the other parks around, I have always thought even at the higher prices it is a nice place to go. Our kids love seeing the bears everyday and the hey ride is always a good time! The sites are very big and grassy. I have always thought that it was kept clean, however when we were there over Labor Day I felt that they havent been keeping up on the grass cutting. I do have a few complaints that I am hoping will be reviewed and considered over the winter so that next summer we can have an even better experience!
- The baby pool being shut down all summer was a huge disapointment. I have two small children so it was hard when all we could offer them was a pool that they couldnt do much since they do not know how to swim yet and could not touch. The pool should also be open starting at Memorial day.
- Close friends of ours called last minute to get a site over Labor Day. They were told at first there was none available, then that there was one but decided to pass since it was far away from where we were camping. When we got there we noticed that on Saturday there were still 10-20 sites open, and some close by to where we wanted. I cant imagine that they had that many cancellations.
- It seems there is a communication problem with the office staff as well not being consistant in what they are telling customers. For example, our family was told they would get a discount for their site due to multiple stays, then was told that they didnt and shouldnt get a discount
- Most of our dealings with the office staff have been plesant besides the few minor miscommunications, however we as well have experienced an attitude when working with Rose and do not feel she is fit out to be in the Customer Service business.
- The office was already closed by 6pm on a Sunday over Labor Day. I understand that most Sundays it clears out, but on a Holiday weekend you should expect to stay extended hours due to the amount of people still in the park.
- We were there several times over the course of the year and dont understand why polices change so often. First you didnt need wristbands for the pool, then you did, then you didnt. Hey rides were free w/ tickets, then you didnt need tickets, then there was a charge. 25 cents isnt a big deal, just the point that why change things in the middle of the season.
- Some times you can bring drinks in the pool area, sometimes they are really strict and dont allow you, then towards the end of season you were allowed to again. I understand not bringing in glass or breakables, but feel they should allow people to bring in non breakable beverages on the pool deck.
We really want to continue having great experiences here and are even considering going permanet so I hope over the winter they make some positive changes and next year will be even better!

I have been camping at Yogi for a out 12 years, and I've seen this campground at its best and this year its sad to say, the worst. To answer some questions, management has changed, for reasons that can not be said. Since old management has left, sadly they took some good workers with them. So this dosen't turn into a huge endless paragraph I'm going to just list the problems with descriptions.

Rose- She has an attitude problem, when she answers the phone she doesn't have the best intentions for the campground. You will hear that the campground is full when it really isn't, and it's sad because the campground is more fun when it is full of people. Also, if you go to the station you will see that she is just the same on the phone. When someone is answering the phone to a Yogi Campground they should want people to come and they should be nice to the people that are PAYING to camp. Also, half the time I walk past the station she's not even working, she's outside just talking. I'm sorry, but for the best of the campground we need someone who actually want's people to camp and is happy to work.

Dickie-Do- Is a Dickie-Dud. Most of the maintenance here aren't even doing their job, you will see they are just driving around on their golf carts all day. He is the head of maintenance and he dose whatever he wants. His campsite looks so nice while the rest of the campground doesn't look half as decent. He runs this place, when he shouldn't. Also, he is not friendly. When you ask for something every teenager maintenance is rushing around while "Dickie-Do" dose nothing. But he has no problem putting up unnecessary speed bumps. It's sad that its going to take one accident for them to tear those down. It shouldn't even take that, so many kids wipe out on that hill alone, the speed bumps and all the outrageous things on the other side of the sign, someones going to get hurt.

Tim- You will be lucky to run into him, he is probably the nicest most helpful person in the campground, he will do anything to help you with the boat, which is really nice because there are some people who do need help.

The Store Staff- They are very nice but it seems like there are to many of them working. Two people at a register isn't necessary, why pay for people who don't need to work?

The Pool- The giant pool and slide is nice but they need to fix that baby pool. Or at least fence it up so people don't go running over there and fall.

The website-It's not up to date, it says that the baby pool is in function when it isn't, and a lot has changed since the website was last revised. So keep an eye out.

Bill- He is very kind and needs to be the boss, like the position he signed up for. If you need something done, talk to him because he will help you, as for Rose will not.

Yogi Bear is a great place to go, Take it from me I've grown up going there, there are just a few knots in the way, once these problems get solved Yogi Bear will be amazing. Im not writing this for people not to come, your more then welcome. Just keep in mind what your going to be dealing with when you get there. Once you get there you will have a good time. :)

First off we started our stay in a cottage and it was wonderful. The office staff was very nice and there was also a problem with our rate that we were told. This problem was fixed immediately by the assistant manager, Rose. She was very helpful with the whole matter. The store was very clean and the pizza in the food area was very delicious. The staff was friendly and they even gave my son free ice cream because it was the "bottom of the barrel". We loved that one! The only complaints I have is that the mini golf course was very out of date and the lighting didn't work but we played during the day time so it really didn't matter. The other complaint I had was that one of the Recreation staff members (a blonde with glasses) and a store worker (also blonde) was very rude when we asked a question about the heyride in the morning. They made it seem like we were supposed to know the answers to our questions. We then seen her at another activity and she didn't seem anymore enthused to be there. Then later that night we went to the Yogi Bear cartoons and a very happy and excited girl named Katie was working. She was very energetic and willing to help everyone. Our stay was very good at Fremont Jellystone park. Hope this helps!

Oh, how I wish I would have read this years (2013) reviews prior to booking.

Like many others, we've been camping at Jellystone Fremont WI for years and have had very few if any complaints. This year was a whole different story!

We usually start our trip on Father's Day Sunday. This year due to a family member battling cancer, we were unable to get away until this past weekend. I called on Thursday, August 15th with no answer but left a voicemail and my call was returned the same day by a very nice gentleman. I wanted to book for Saturday evening but was told everything was booked up. I completely understood due to the short notice. I asked what was available for Sunday evening for Comfort Cottages and was given the appropriate response. I also asked about any coupons/specials as the website hasn't been updated in some time. I was quoted a one night Sunday stay in a comfort cottage with a 20% discount. I discussed with my family and called back Friday morning to book the one Sunday night and this time spoke with a very rude female. She told me that I could not book just one night in a comfort cottage for Sunday night. She rudely stated the there was a minimum of 2 nights regardless if it was a weekend (Fri or Sat) or weekday (Sun-Thurs). This is not stated on the website or any printed materials I have nor was it a problem booking one night with the gentleman that returned my call. I explained whom I spoke with the afternoon prior and what I was quoted, etc. Her exact response "well, I wasn't here yesterday". I asked to speak to a manager and finally Rose came on the line. I once again explained and she told me in not such a friendly tone that she'd honor it this time only. No apologies for the conflicting information given to me, etc. In fact, she acted like she was doing me a favor. I should have went with my gut and said forget it but I didn't, I booked the one night since we needed to get away even if it was for just one night.

So, we arrive Sunday afternoon early and went to register. The cottage wasn't available yet but we understood that as we were early. I had confirmed prior that we could come early and still use the facilities until the cottage was ready. We were given a negative attitude right away even with that. Then we always rent a golf cart for our stay and this year was more important as I have a broken foot. There were golf carts parked outside available. We were told there were no carts available and when we questioned about the ones sitting there, we were told those were reserved. We then asked if we could be put on a reserve list for when some were returned as many people leave on Sundays. We were told we could not reserve one and that they knew none would be available for us to rent during our stay. Wait a minute here....we were just told the ones sitting there are reserved but yet we cannot reserve....you can see where I'm going here. So, I wrote down the numbers of the carts and watched throughout the day and low and behold, those carts sat there unused all day and night. Why would they do this is beyond me when they could have made an easy $50 because that's what they charge per day for a gold cart. I can tell you that if we wouldn't have lost our deposit, we would have walked out right then and there.

Later we get the key and go to our comfort cottage, the same one we've booked for years. Very disappointed, spider webs throughout, dried food along the mattress and wooden bed frame. The bottom of the door had been cut leaving a 2 inch gap for bugs and rodents to come thru. The air conditioning/heater combo unit that used to be used is no longer. Now it's a window a/c which had more gaps at least 1/2 inch in size allowing more bugs to come in and noisy...oh my, I was up every 1/2 hour letting it run, then shut off to sleep and let it run again, back and forth all night.

The grounds were not kept up with grass cutting, tree trimming, broken limbs hanging on & over cottages. Trash all over throughout the grounds, non functioning kiddie pool had moldy water in the bottom, no security at the security station, rules not inforced, registration staff unfriendly and downright rude, over staffing at the gift shop, no life guard on duty from 8-9 pm but yet there were swimmers during that time, arcade area filthy, restrooms dirty and not stocked with necessities. Then there's the mini golf course which is not included in the price of your stay. This area needs to be completely redone. Carpet was pulled up all over, large bolts sticking up on numerous holes of the course, broken down equipment and then there's the bushes planted with the small yellow flowers which attract bee's. The bushes are pretty but known to attract bees and there's a lot of them....not a bush to plant in a mini golf course.

In closing, I will no longer recommend Jellystone Fremont WI to anyone. In fact, I hope this saves someone else from wasting their money and saves them from some stress. Afterall we go on vacations like this to relax not to deal with what my family has dealt with.

To the owners/management of Jellystone Fremont WI....I have a old saying to share with you. "Good news travels fast, bad news travels faster."

We camped Sat and Sun July 13-14. The campground was huge, spacious ,and very well kept up. All activities went as planned. The whole family of 18, enjoyed the weekend very much. The pool and slides were great, boating was fun. Bathrooms were very clean, the staff very helpful. $22.00 for a bucket full of wood. We will camp there again. We were on sites 56,57,58. We were very impressed .

We have benn camping at Jellystone for the past eight years. And last year finally there was a Awesome management team. Things were clean, office was open with a friendly staff, you could see improvements being made. what happened? This year, picnic tables still standing up on trees and grass not cut on Memorial Day weekend, wow suppose to be the showcase weekend. The office assistant manager, just plan rude, pool looking disgusting, trees knocked down still laying around. Mantainance cruising around on golf carts doing nothing. The golf course complete eye sore and the carpet on most holes is sticking up so you cannot even get the ball in the hole. No security at the new security cabin at the entrance at anytime, and the security that is there, look like teenagers.. All the rules for the park nothing is enforced, bikes out after dark, golf carts out of control, office closed half the time, and cannot get through on the phone. The staff in the general store were very nice and at the boat ramp very nice and helpful. I am afraid this place is going in the wrong direction. Also, just being there Fourth of July weekend, kiddy pool not open, went up to office sat night closed, really. The band that was there was not even the one on the schedule. Just listening to people who were sitting around the pool, saying they cannot believe what happened to the place and won't be returning. Very sad! I hope they get it together, or they will and probably already are losing a lot of the campers that have been coming for years!!

We just returned from 4th of July camping trip to Jellystone in Fremont, WI, where our family has camped on and off over the past 30 years. This was the most disappointing experience to date.

We arrived on Wednesday July 3rd at 5:30 PM to find the registration office locked/closed. There were no signs up telling us what we were supposed to do. As we were walking away, an employee in a golf cart asked us why we were upset and I explained that we had no idea on how we were supposed to check in or what was going on. He explained that our papers were in an after hours check in box. After hours???? It was 5:30 PM on a holiday weekend!!

But moving on...off we go to set up. Once done, we head over to the general store thinking we could grab a quick bite in their food area. The store itself is open but the food part completely shut down. This was about 6-6:30.

The next morning one of the kids mentions that on their walk they saw signs up in the pool area which says that wristbands are required. Wristbands? What wristbands? I would have appreciated getting them in the check-in packet if we were required to wear them to the pool, but nope, they weren't in there. So we walk up to the registration center and ask for them, and they're handed over to us pretty much no questions asked (which begs the question -- why even have them required if you hand them out willy nilly anyway???)

Pool itself was clean. However -- HUGE issue and HUGE eyesore, in my opinion -- they don't have the kiddie pool in operation. It was drained with a bit of muddy/dirty/standing water in the bottom. I have a smaller child yet and it would have been nice to have been able to use the kiddie pool (we managed with her in the big pool). Many other campers with smaller kids weren't so happy about the situation.

Showers in the pool area: my fist morning I went to take a shower, got all set up, undressed, turned on the water and all I got was ice cold water. Ugh. So I changed to another one which did have hot water. The next day, I saw a sign in a different shower which said it was out of order. And then heard from one of the kids that actually 3 of the 4 showers in that pool building (women's side) were out of order. Only one had hot water ever.

Bathroom areas were a bit yucky, as they usually are at campgrounds. I encountered one soap dispenser which was out of soap for more than 24 hours before finally being refilled, and one bathroom stall which ran out of toilet paper. I never once saw a cleaning crew out and about.

Staff was shoe-string all around (except the general store, where they seemed to staff far more workers then necessary). There was an issue with a dog (pit bull) nearly biting a guy, and we were all kind of wondering "who would we talk to about it since there aren't ever any staff around, the office closes so early, and the teenagers running the general store never know anything about anything you ask them?"

Activities were just.....sad. It's obvious they have no activity director. I'm still not sure what the heyride thing was all about. The flyers all said it was a free activity, yet there were signs up outside the general store saying the heyride cost $0.25 (which we ended up paying). Flyers also gave the name of a country band which was supposed to play on Saturday night, but the actual band was named something different (Suave-something) and it was Latin music. Fine and all, I guess, to change the band, but with everything else it just added up to more things that they messed up.

Our thoughts are that there's something going on -- maybe they're close to banktruptcy, or in it, or darn close to it, or just plain don't know what they're doing. Jellystone Fremont is the highest priced campground around, and if they're not providing quality anymore, our money's better spent somewhere else. We won't go back until/unless there is new ownership.

The first weekend in June warm weather Friday and Saturday and the pool is not open yet!!!! What's the problem!! Many people that we talked to were very unhappy that the manager at Jellystone is refusing to get the pool ready. We don't camp very often so the pool is a very big deal for our family, we pay the extra $$$ to camp at Jellystone in Fremont but found out that we wasted our money. We will not make this mistake again. Jellystone in Fremont is trying to save money by keeping the pool closed well they will lose more money because we will not be back, and if you are reading this maybe you will think twice.

We have camped here for years...always happy. This is the first year it sucked. For one...the pool wasn't open for Memorial Day weekend despite 2 weeks of 80 degree weather. Two...we paid extra for a lakeside site. The flyer said " elite lakeside with dock". What really happened...the campground does NOT tell you that they also lease out the so called dock to other people. We had the joy of 3 boats at the dock which meant nonstop weirdos coming and going with our two young children. And could our children fish on the so called dock that we we're told we could use? No. There we buoys and ropes all over. Coolers. They just lounged there. I tried to walk out...tripped on a rope and actually fell in with my new cell phone. Could we fish from shore? No. There were three boats...not much room to cast anywhere. I called to inquire and the lady who answered literally said "too bad". Worst campground experience ever. We will never be back. Not for Memorial day...4th July..Labor day
..and neither will the other camping family who always books a lake site near us. Thanks for a crappy weekend, new owners. Must be nice to advertise sites with a dock and then not make good on that. Double dip much? Charge us extra for a lake site and dock and then take money from others to put boats there. No worries...we like RiverBend RV resort better. At least they open their pool and respect their customers.

I thought the campground in general was clean including the bathrooms. After coming home my daughter and wife had several small bites all over their ankles, we thought they were bed bugs at first because of some of the reviews we read here so we asked a doctor and it turned out to be flea bites. Apparently this campground has a flea infestation. I liked the place but we wont be going back because of this reason.

I'm disappointed at the reviews for this campground. We stayed two nights in a cabin and had a lot of fun. We did not have any bed bugs, so it sounds like an isolated case. The staff was friendly and helpful. My kids also enjoyed the activities we participated in.

I was disappointed that there wasn't free Wi-fi, but it wasn't a deal breaker. Bathrooms were clean and showers had great pressure and hot water! The store has a little bit of everything including firewood. Make sure you check out the specials on their webpage. Great deals during the week.

I would return with my family again in a cabin or tent camping.

Fremont Wisconsin, Yogi bear Jellystone park: I first want to start this out by saying this campground is disgusting and pathetic. The cabin that we had stayed in was infested with bedbugs and my family had to stay up all night washing everything that we basically had to pay for ourseleves. They gave us a few dollars in quarters, but wasnt even close to the expense of laundry cost. I would never go and stay in there cabins. We have strong hope of not bringing them home. Once again dont ever stay in there cabins, unless you enjoy getting bitten by bed bugs and whatever else there hiding from you. I rate this campground at a 0. Thank you and be cautious while staying there.
